GAME INFO
The San Jose Sharks (0-0-0) face the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2019-20 regular season opener, in the first of two games in a home-and-home set. This is the first time the Sharks have opened the season in a home-and-home scenario since the 2010-11 season when the Sharks and Columbus opened up in Sweden. The only other time there has been a home-and-home to start the season for San Jose in North America was in the 1991-92 season against the Vancouver Canucks (10/4 at VAN; 10/5 vs. VAN). Previously in 2018-19, the two clubs finished second and third respectively in the Pacific Division before meeting in the First Round of the 2019 Playoffs. The Sharks erased a 3-1 series deficit and emerged victorious in a come-from-behind overtime victory in Game 7, 5-4. The Sharks went 2-2-0 against Vegas in the regular season and all-time are 3-4-1.
